Shahana prides itself on interpreting Tagore differently. Of exploring the deeper nuances of his works, of presenting his humanitarian thought process to our audiences. Our performances are therefore deeply nuanced, and attempts to break new grounds.

The Warrior Princes
Experimental Theatre, NCPA – 8th May 2025
Based on Tagore's Dance Drama Chitrangada and his poem on the same theme, Rajendranandini is a multi-media presentation of dance, music & visuals on Mumbai’s leading performance platform.


TRIDHA
The Power of the Three Energies
Veer Savarkar Natyagruha – September 2024
Tridha is an exploration through music, dance and poetry, of the three feminine energies of creation, preservation and destruction, based on Tagore’s works.
BAUL ROBI
Experimental Theatre, NCPA – 3rd May 2024
Baul Robi is presented by Shahana Shilpi Sangha, the performing group of Shahana Tagore Centre for Indian Music and Culture. It is a multimedia exploration of Tagore’s interpretation of Baul music accompanied by visuals, illustrating how Tagore was inspired by the local traditions that ultimately led to development of an idiom that was his own, both in terms of language and music.


ROBI RONGE
Veer Savarkar Natyagruha – September 2023
Robi Ronge explores the process of creation and devolution through Tagore’s works using the colors representing the chakras through which macrocosmic and microcosmic creation takes place. This is a composite program exploring this theme through Tagore’s music, poetry and dance.
